Do you remember the first time you ever saw an overwater bungalow on social media? I bet it was years ago. I’ll never forget when the real OG travel influencers first started posting these crazy pics and videos from the Maldives, Bora Bora, Bali, and more.

I remember thinking, “One day… what do I have to do to stay there?” Turns out the answer was 10+ years of working my ass off, mastering credit-card point strategy, and ultimately turning all of that into our honeymoon. Which is how we ended up at the Westin Bora Bora for a true once-in-a-lifetime bucket-list stay.

So if you’re planning your own honeymoon or an unforgettable Bora Bora getaway, here’s my completely unsponsored, fully paid-for-with-my-own-money review of our 5-night stay at the Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa 🛁

Getting to The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

Idk about you but finding my way to a hotel isn’t usually the most exciting thing in the world UNLESS you’re in Bora Bora. We took an Air Tahiti flight from PPT (Tahiti) in the late afternoon and got to Bora Bora right before sunset.

There’s actually only two main airline options for getting to Bora Bora. Air Tahiti is the more established carrier with the most frequent flights, solid reliability, and a long track record of running the classic Tahiti to Bora Bora route. Air Moana is the newer player with a smaller fleet and fewer routes, but it’s a perfectly fine option if the timing fits your itinerary.

The flight itself is quick, around 50 minutes, and it’s easily one of the most scenic short flights you’ll ever take. Pro tip – ake sure to sit on the left on your way to Bora Bora and on the right when leaving for those epic turquoise views!!!

If you’re tight on schedule, Air Tahiti tends to be the safer bet simply because there are more flight options throughout the day. Air Moana works well if you’re flexible or looking for alternatives during busier travel periods.

You might not be able to control this but I actually recommend taking an earlier flight into Bora Bora. We had a ~2pm flight and we were slightly delayed because of weather. And then when we were landing…we had to go around TWICE because of high winds. It was probably the scariest f*cking flight we’ve ever been on. Like, tiny propeller planes and having to go around twice was insane.

It gets kinda windy in the evenings in Bora Bora so I definitely recommend flying in earlier!

Once you land in Bora Bora, the airport is tiny! There’s only one direction to go. And all you need to do is look for the Westin Bora Bora sign and walk right up to it. Most of the luxury hotels will have wooden stands waiting to welcome their guests. You’ll even get greeted with a freshly made lei!

The Westin handles your transfer from the airport to the resort by boat, and the ride itself already feels like a preview of everything you came here for. Crystal blue water, mountain views, and that first warm gust of Bora Bora air hitting your face.

If you’re connecting from Moorea or another island, the transfer works the same way. The only thing to keep in mind is timing since these inter-island flights can run on island time. Pad in some buffer and enjoy the (kinda chopppy boat) ride.

Rooms & Accommodations at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

The Westin’s overwater bungalows really are the star of the show. And I’m pretty sure the Westin has the MOST overwater bungalows available in Bora Bora (for now). It’s probably because it’s now one of the newest resorts on the island. (It was formerly Le Meridien but went through a MASSSSIIIIVEEEE remodel recently).

Don’t get me wrong – I love my Four Seasons and St. Regis but there’s nothing better than a completely remodeled hotel with brand new rooms, floors, restaurants, and more.

Overwater bungalows

The basic overwater units measure about 441 sq ft (~41 m²) and come with a king bed, sofa, terrace, and those signature floor-panels. And yes, THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

We had a lagoon view bungalow and thought it was perfect. You can upgrade to the mountain view bungalows or the suites with a private pool but we thought ours was just fine! (They offered to upgrade us for the last 2 nights since we’re Marriott gold but at that point, we were way too lazy to move all our shit).

Overwater suites & villas

If you want more space or a more elevated experience, the resort offers larger overwater suites and multi-bedroom overwater villas. These include separate living areas, bigger terraces, and private plunge pools that overlook the lagoon. Everything is designed to give you more breathing room and more of those panoramic views.

The suite layouts feel residential rather than hotel-like, and the expanded deck space makes a huge difference. For families, groups, or travelers who want that “I could actually live here” feeling, the two-bedroom overwater villas are the highest-tier option. These come with generous indoor-outdoor space, multiple lounging zones, and premium views.

Think of these as the overwater bungalows turned up to eleven. If the bungalows are the dream, the suites and villas are the dream with extra square footage.

Beach bungalows & beach villas

Not all luxury in Bora Bora sits above water. The beach accommodations are just as beautiful, and in some cases even more practical. The beach bungalows offer the same polished interiors as the overwater units but place you directly on the sand. You get a private terrace, immediate lagoon access, and lush landscaping that feels both tropical and private.

Some of the beach bungalows also come with private plunge pools, which is a great alternative if you want more privacy or easier access to the resort grounds. For travelers needing additional space, the beach villas are the largest land-based units. Multi-bedroom options are available, making them perfect for families, small groups, or guests who want more room to spread out without sacrificing views or comfort.

These categories are ideal if you prefer direct land access, want shorter walking distances to dining and resort amenities, or simply aren’t drawn to the overwater experience.

Regardless of which room type you choose, all the rooms come with…

  • Every room is newly renovated with a modern-Polynesian style.
  • Signature Westin amenities: Heavenly® Bed 2.0, sleep-well program (lavender balm, etc).
  • Direct access to the lagoon (whether you’re stepping off your deck into the water or walking a few steps to the sand)
  • Most overwater units include the glass-floor panel (seriously fun)
  • Some version of a private terrace/lounge space (and in many cases a private plunge pool) is available in the higher-tier categories.

Luxurious Amenities at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

Guys I don’t think I’ve ever explored every inch of a resort the way we explored the Westin Bora Bora. Like, we did EVERY.SINGLE.THING possible during our 5-day stay. And we easily could’ve stayed for another 5 more.

People kept warning us that we’d get bored but we didn’t experience anyyyyy of that. How can you get bored when you can literally just jump into the ocean from your balcony everyday????

There are seriously soooo many amenities at the Westin but these were definitely the hi-lights of our trip:

The pool & lagoon

The main pool area at The Westin Bora Bora is massive and beautifully designed, with plenty of loungers whether you want sun, shade, or the sandy beachfront section. It’s the kind of pool where you can easily spend the entire afternoon without realizing how burnt you might be! But don’t worry – they provide free sunscreen and aloe vera!

When you’re ready for a swim in the lagoon, the water is warm and calm, and the resort even has its own coral garden!! Snorkeling here is incredibly easy because snorkel gear is included in your destination fee and the moment you put your face in the water, you’re greeted by schools of colorful fish. It’s perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a quick, beautiful snorkel session without leaving the property.

Pro tip – get some bread rolls from the breakfast buffet and save em for later. The fishies in Bora Bora love to eat bread!!!

The spa

For the amount of hotels I stay in, I am actually pretty picky about when I treat myself to the spa. And we were on our honeymoon so obviously this was going to be one of the times.

The spa at The Westin Bora Bora honestly feels like its own little world. We booked a couples Polynesian massage and it was one of those treatments where you walk out wondering why you don’t do this more often. And then you remember why because it’s expensive AF but totally worth the splurge.

The therapists we had were so good we fell asleep for part of the way!

After the massage, you’re guided into the wellness area where you can rotate between the steam room, sauna, and a private outdoor pool that overlooks the lagoon. We even brought our own bottle of champagne and toasted to our final evening in the relaxation lounge 🥂

Kayaks & paddleboards

The lagoon around The Westin is calm and unbelievably clear, which makes it perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. The best part is that the resort lets you use both for free, so you can head out whenever the water looks too good to resist. There’s no sign-up sheet or pressure to join a group. It’s all super laid back and at-your-own-pace.

Eco turtle center

One of the coolest and most unexpected parts of the resort is the eco turtle center. It’s an on-site rehabilitation program where injured or rescued turtles are cared for before being released back into the wild.

We paid to join one of the feeding sessions (all proceeds go back to the rehab of the turtles) and got to learn about how the team evaluates each turtle, what the recovery process looks like, and how long they typically stay at the center.

I’m not gonna lie, there were parts of this experience that were super sad. But it adds a really meaningful layer to your stay because you’re not just vacationing, you’re seeing firsthand how the resort contributes to local conservation.

Resort activities & wellness experiences

The Westin Bora Bora has a surprisingly full lineup of activities if you’re the type who likes a little structure mixed into your relaxation. They offer things like flower crown making, which is such a fun and very Polynesian way to start the day. It’s hands-on, creative, and you walk away with something beautiful to wear for the rest of the trip.

There are also wine tastings for anyone who wants a quieter afternoon activity paired with a little education. The staff walks you through different varietals and regions, and it’s a nice contrast to all the water-based fun.

On the wellness side, the resort has free yoga and Pilates classes held in peaceful open-air spaces that overlook the lagoon. The gym is also well equipped with modern machines, weights, and plenty of space, which is a huge plus if you like to keep your routine going even while traveling.

Altogether, the activity schedule gives you plenty to choose from so you can make each day as full or as mellow as you want.

Complimentary bikes

Getting around the resort on the complimentary bikes was way more fun than I expected. It’s a “first-come first-serve” model with the bikes which means you can take any bike you see UNLESS it’s in the walkway of a bungalow. Then those are off limits but there’s plenty to go around!

Refillable water bottles

One of the most practical amenities is the set of refillable water bottles they give you at check-in. Bora Bora heat hits fast, so having water on hand at all times is a lifesaver. These bottles are good quality, easy to carry, and accepted at the refill stations across the property.

I know it’s not the *shiniest* amenity but I think it’s a thoughtful touch that keeps you hydrated and cuts down on single-use plastic, which feels aligned with the resort’s vibe and the eco-friendly initiatives like the turtle center.

And because you’ll use them every single day, it becomes one of those small perks that actually makes a big difference 💧

Food & Drinks at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

If you’re wondering what the food is like at The Westin Bora Bora, the short answer is: really good!!!! And also expensive. But hey, that’s the price you pay for staying at a remote island resort. My suggestion is to either pack a few bottles of alcohol to save on costs OR just splurge since this is probably a once-in-a-lifetime trip anyway.

The resort has a little bit of everything when it comes to food! From casual beach bar eats to curated dinner menus and fun themed nights. Here’s a full look at everything we ate and drank and why we left Bora Bora 5-10 lbs heavier 🤪👇

Ps. YOU NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE. This was kind of annoying because we were only able to snag an 8pm reservation which is super late for us. And we originally wanted to do the Italian tasting menu at Maere but settled for Asian. So if you’re a planner, I’d suggest reaching out to the concierge BEFORE your trip to ensure you can snag some 6 or 7pm dinner slots!

Tipanier

If breakfast is included in your room, then Tipanier is where you’ll start every morning. The breakfast buffet is HUUUUGE with tons of fresh tropical fruit, flaky croissants, Tahitian specialties, and a made-to-order omelette station that never disappointed.

One of my favorite surprises was the fresh sashimi and salmon. I know eating fish first thing in the morning isn’t really for everyone but it definitely is for me. (Also one of the reasons I love Hawaii so much)

We also booked Polynesian Night here, which is a full dinner buffet paired with a cultural show (aka live bellydancers and music). It’s lively, filling, and such a fun way to dive deeper into local food and traditions.

Maere

I was shocked to find out that the Westin Bora Bora has a restaurant that offers a tasting menu??? I guess it makes sense but it was a shock to me. And the menu at Maere rotates nightly, which keeps things interesting. As mentioned earlier, you need to book reservations in advance!!

We originally wanted to book for Italian night but were told that it was full since they only have two seatings every night (at 5:30 and at 8). We ended up coming on Asian night and still loved every course.

The flavors were bold, the presentation was beautiful, and the pacing was perfect.

They also offer a champagne flight in the beginning which ended up being one of the most memorable (and expensive) parts of the meal.

Other rotation nights include Fisherman’s Seafood Night and Mexican night, so no matter when you go, you’re in for something different and genuinely delicious.

Varavara

Varavara is the main beach bar and the ultimate low-effort dining spot for your first night, especially if you’re arriving tired like we were. We grabbed a poke bowl, a beer, and a couple small bites and it was exactly what we needed. The setting is casual, breezy, and right on the water.

‘O’A rooftop bar

If you want the best sunset views on the property, head straight to the rooftop of ‘O’A. This is the resort’s dedicated sunset bar with front-row views of Mount Otemanu that turn golden at the end of the day.

The drinks are great too. We loved the espresso martinis and their happy hour specials. It’s the perfect pre-dinner stop and one of the most photogenic places on the resort.

Te Ava

Te Ava is your go-to for a poolside lunch, and yes, you can literally eat while lounging in the pool.

The menu is casual with salads, wraps, and refreshing small plates that hit the spot when you’re spending the day swimming or tanning.

It’s all very relaxed and exactly the kind of meal you want when you don’t feel like putting on real clothes.

Room service at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

We ordered room service after our jet ski day and it was suuuuuch a good call. The food arrived fast, everything was fresh, and there is something unbeatable about eating dinner AND DESSERT in a comfy hotel robe.

Staying at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa: Final Thoughts

Well I hope it’s clear that we had the most incredible 5 nights at the Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa. We almost extended our stay for a couple nights but we sadly couldn’t do so without paying a large change fee for Air Tahiti.

There’s a lot of overwater bungalows to choose from but we couldn’t be happier with our choice of staying at the Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa. It was completely new and remodeled, the service was outstanding, and we ate and drank til our hearts (and stomachs) were full.

Have you ever stayed at a hotel sooooo incredible that you looked around and thought “holy shit I can’t believe I’m here right now”. Well, that was me on my most recent stay at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina. Between the freshly made leis draped over your shoulders at check-in, to the infinity pool overlooking the Pacific, and the top-notch consistency in service + hospitality that’ll make you forget what day it is… Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina isn’t just any hotel. It’s a full-blown Hawaiian escape you’ll want to remember.

So if you’re thinking about booking a stay here, keep reading for my complete review of the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina 👇

Getting to Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina

Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina sits on the island’s west side, about a half hour from Honolulu. Ko Olina itself is a resort community built around four man-made lagoons, so you get calm, swimmable waters and a more relaxed vibe compared to the city. You’ll find a few other big-name resorts here (Disney’s Aulani is right next door), plus a small shopping center with restaurants and an ABC Store for snacks and sunscreen runs.

Because it’s not in Waikiki, I highly recommend renting a car if you want to venture beyond the resort and explore Oahu’s hikes, beaches, and food scene.

The nice thing about getting to Ko Olina is that it’s only about a ~30 minute drive from Honolulu International Airport (HNL), so you won’t be stuck in the car forever after your flight. I pretty much always rent a car in Oahu because I love exploring all of the incredible hikes on the island.

Pro tip: if you’re renting a car in Oahu, make sure to go with Avis and sign up for their free loyalty program. This lets you skip the rental counter line, which is a huuuuge timesaver after the flight. Otherwise you might be waiting at HNL for awhile.

Beyond renting a car, here are a few other ways to get to the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina:

🚘 Private Transport: Book a private transfer in advance. I like using Viator or you can just email Four Seasons and they’ll organize a driver for you. Super convenient if you don’t want to deal with logistics.

🚗 Rental Car: Driving from HNL to the Four Seasons takes about 25–30 minutes depending on traffic. It’s the best option if you’re planning to explore the island. If Avis is out of your budget, I suggest checking Discovercars.com or Expedia.

🚙 Uber/Lyft: Rideshares from HNL usually take 25–30 minutes as well and run around $50–$60 USD each way. Great if you don’t need a car for the rest of your stay.

Rooms & Accommodations at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina

With 371 guest rooms and 55 luxury suites across the property, there’s something for every type of traveler. Whether you’re here for a quick getaway, a holiday vacation with the kids, or planning to go full honeymoon mode.

From the moment I walked into my Oceanview One Bedroom Suite at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, I knew I was in for something special. The suite itself was a dreaaaaam. The bed was ridiculously soft. Like, “do I really have to get up and go for a hike right now” soft.

And the bathroom had two full sinks plus a massive soaking tub that felt like my own mini spa 🛁

The room decor strikes that perfect balance of laid-back island style and polished luxury. Think banana-leaf wall coverings, rich local-wood accents, and vibrant touches of color that make the whole room feel warm and inviting.

And then there’s the view: a sweeping panorama of the Pacific that I soaked in daily from my private lanai, morning coffee (and drone controller) in hand ☕

No matter which room you book, you’ll get all the Four Seasons staples: complimentary premium Wi-Fi, luxury bath products, 24-hour in-room dining, multilingual concierges, and even a daily newspaper if you like your mornings old-school. And yes, it’s family-friendly too. Between the thoughtful design and the little touches, every room feels like a proper Hawaiian welcome.

Luxurious Amenities at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina

If relaxing is your vibe, you are in the right place. Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina has FOUR amazing pools. Yes, F O U R. God what I would give to even have ONE pool at my tiny home in San Francisco. Although I guess we don’t really need a pool but hey! I’d like the option.

The Keiki Pool is perfect for kids, just steps from the calm lagoon and white sand beach. The Adult Infinity Pool is all about peace and quiet with a side of sunset cocktails. The Ohana Pool has private luxury cabanas and a more social feel. The Spa and Wellness Pool is where you go for laps, hydrotherapy, or a post treatment soak.

Screenshot

I basically spent the entire time at the Adult Infinity Pool. Especially because there’s a swim-up mai tai bar sooooooo yeah. Enough said. They were delicious. I’m pretty sure I had like pineapple juice and rum flowing through my veins by the time I walked back up to my room. Very tipsy indeed haha.

Every pool comes with thoughtful extras like cabanas, daybeds, full food and beverage service, complimentary treats, sunglasses cleaning, sunscreen, and aloe gel. Guests can also enjoy complimentary stand up paddleboards and snorkel rentals right off the beach.

Ps. Had your fill of poolside cocktails?Check out my post on the top 10 best hikes in Oahu.

If you want to elevate your stay, booking a Club Room gives you access to the Club Lounge. This private space is reserved for Club guests and feels like your own hideaway within the resort. You can start your day with breakfast, return in the afternoon for a cocktail, and stop back at sunset for evening drinks. Dedicated staff and concierge service make it feel personal and seamless.

Wellness is another highlight Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina. The Naupaka Spa and Wellness Centre offers indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, signature lomilomi massages, oxygen facials, and more.

Screenshot

For active fun, there is a tennis center with both tennis and pickleball, plus the Ko Olina Golf Club right next door for anyone who wants to play a round surrounded by lush scenery. The fitness center is also open daily from 6 AM to 6 PM and has everything you need to stay on track including treadmills, a full squat rack, and gender-divided steam and sauna rooms. You can also sign up for yoga lessons.

On the food and shopping front, you’ll have five restaurants and lounges to choose from. (More on this in the next section). The options range from casual poolside bites to fresh seafood and Italian dining. The two on site boutiques carry resort wear, gifts, and anything you might have left behind.

Food & Drink at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina

If food is your love language like it is mine (especially Hawaiian food), then I promise Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina will not let you down. The resort has a lineup of restaurants and bars that cover everything from morning coffee runs to oceanfront fine dining.

Hokulea is the go-to spot in the mornings, serving artisanal coffee, fresh pastries, and light bites with a breezy lanai setting. For a heartier start, head to La Hiki, the poolside restaurant known for its creative breakfast spreads and “Brunch for All Seasons” on Sundays. At lunchtime, La Hiki also offers a mix of wholesome, locally sourced dishes that hit the spot between dips in the pool.

When the sun sets, the energy shifts to the resort’s signature dinner spots. Mina’s Fish House delivers a true island-to-table seafood experience right on the beach, with a fresh catch program that connects local fishermen to your plate. Noe is the Italian option, serving house-made pastas, fresh seafood, and steaks in a romantic garden setting. Both restaurants are the kind of places where dinner easily stretches into hours.

For something a little more casual, Mānalo Lounge sits right at the water’s edge with shareable plates and island-inspired flavors. This is actually where I ate because I wasn’t really hungry enough for a full meal at Mina’s Fish House. The sushi roll and chicken skewers at Manalo Lounge were the perfect portion size. Also, it was a little less busy which was nice as I wanted to be away from the crowds.

Okay buuuuut the best drink option??? For evening drinks with a view, five | one | six is the rooftop bar that pairs craft cocktails with some of the best sunsets on the island. It’s also kind of a speakeasy? I mean, they openly tell you about it BUT the location is very inconspicuous 🔍 I think it must’ve just been a regular hotel room that they turned into a cocktail bar? Which is pretty epic. Because you’re able to grab handcrafted cocktails without ever leaving the property!!!

Of course, if you are not in the mood to leave your room, 24-hour in-room dining is always an option. And if you booked a Club Room, the Club Lounge doubles as a private dining space, with breakfast in the morning, cocktails in the afternoon, and evening nibbles to cap off the day.

Staying at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina: Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, staying at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina is the kind of experience that spoils you for everywhere else. Or makes you realize you’ll need to work for the rest of your life in order to keep up this lifestyle (aka me). But hey, that’s what motivation is after all.

The west side location gives you peace and space that Waikiki just cannot, the pools alone could keep you entertained for a week, and the dining lineup makes it really hard to justify leaving the property.

Add in the softest beds, sunset cocktails at five-one-six, and staff who anticipate your needs before you even realize them yourself, and it is basically vacation perfection.

Yes, it’s a splurge for most but it is one of those rare stays where you can feel every dollar stretching into comfort, relaxation, and memories you will actually remember years from now. If you are looking for a Hawaiian escape that balances luxury with genuine island charm, this is it.

Have you seen all the stunning 5-star hotels in China going viral on social media for literally under $150 a night? It honestly blew my mind, and made me even more excited to visit China with my dad. Beijing has tons of neighborhoods to choose from, but for my first visit, we decided to stay at the Empark Prime Hotel Beijing. And it didn’t disappoint. So keep reading for my honest Empark Prime Hotel Beijing review ✨

Located at the north end of Wangfujing Street in Beijing, Empark Prime Hotel Beijing delivers sleek, modern vibes with a sharp nod to local culture. With high ceilings, gallery-style corridors, and a sleek fusion of Chinese and Western aesthetics, it feels more like a boutique gallery than a business hotel. The hotel is also super close to the China Art Museum, Wangfujing pedestrian street, and the Forbidden City. It’s the perfect place to stay for a short weekend visit to Beijing!

However, none of that impacts the integrity of my reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Getting to Empark Prime Hotel Beijing

The best thing about traveling around Beijing is that you can easily order a Didi (China’s version of uber) from anywhere. I flew directly into the Beijing Airport from Singapore (PEK) and met my dad in the arrivals hall. From there, we ordered a DiDi (I suggest downloading and setting up Alipay BEFORE getting to China. Without Alipay, you’ll be kinda f*cked traveling around this entire country. At least for now). Unfortunately, we landed smack in the middle of rush hour so it took us about an hour to get to the hotel. But it only cost about $20 USD!

Beyond DiDi, there’s a few other ways to get to Empark Prime Hotel Beijing from the airport:

🚕: A taxi from PEK to The Prime Hotel Beijing takes about 18 minutes and costs ¥100–130 ($14–18 USD) in light traffic, but during rush hour expect 40–60 minutes and up to ¥150–180 ($21–25 USD) with tolls.
🚊: Taking the Capital Airport Express to Dongzhimen, followed by a short 10-minute walk or taxi, takes about 29 minutes total and costs ¥28–30 (~$4–5 USD).

Rooms & Accommodations at Empark Prime Hotel Beijing

Is there anything better than walking into your hotel room and spotting a tiny bonsai tree and a giant bathtub? I think not. That’s exactly the kind of vibe you get at the Empark Prime Hotel Beijing. And with over 400 rooms, you’ve got options on room types for days.

My dad and I went with the city view twin room (because, you know, separate beds). It was surprisingly spacious, and came stocked with the essentials: bottled water, robes, slippers, snacks, coffee and more. My dad’s a simple travel guy (think 2-star hotels lol) so he was pretty impressed with all the “extras”

And the bathroom? Bright, roomy, and honestly begging for a bubble bath. Sadly, I didn’t get around to soaking in the tub this time, but best believe it’s on the itinerary for my next visit to Beijing.

Luxurious Amenities at Empark Prime Hotel Beijing

The Empark Prime Hotel Beijing has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a solid 5-star stay. For NOT 5-star prices. (Seriously, I think this was my favorite part about traveling around China). There’s a fully equipped gym if you’re trying to squeeze in a workout, and a gorgeous indoor pool with loungers and panoramic views if you’re more about relaxation.

Business travelers are covered with spacious meeting rooms and event spaces. Also the in-room amenities I mentioned earlier are fantastic. Think plush robes, slippers, a mini bar, snacks, coffee, and my favorite little bonsai tree. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you look around and go, “Wait, all of this was under $200/night?”

Food & Drink at Empark Prime Hotel Beijing

With over five on-site restaurants, you’re definitely not going to go hungry at Empark Prime Hotel Beijing. And if you’re debating whether to include breakfast in your stay…just do it. Their all-day dining spot, Harvest, serves up one of the best hotel breakfast buffets I’ve ever had.

We’re talking buttery European pastries, classic Chinese dim sum and congee, American-style bacon and eggs, and pretty much everything in between. Like this make-your-own noodle bar??? 🍜

Everything was seriously so good I swear I had like 4 plates every morning for breakfast.

If you’re craving something more upscale, there’s a Cantonese restaurant on-site that serves up rich flavors and classic dishes in a beautiful, courtyard-style setting. It’s one of several restaurants in the hotel, so whether you’re in the mood for dim sum or something more Western, you’ve got options without even having to leave the building.

Thirsty? There’s also a gorgeous hotel lobby bar serving traditional drinks and some creative Chinese cocktails made with the famous “Moutai”. Moutai is a traditional Chinese spirit made from fermented sorghum, known for its strong flavor, high alcohol content, and cultural significance.

My favorite food option though? Definitely the Häagen-Dazs ice cream cart 🍦

Staying at Empark Prime Hotel Beijing: Final Thoughts

If you’re visiting Beijing for the first time and want a comfortable, well-located hotel without blowing your budget, Empark Prime Hotel Beijing is a solid pick. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast buffet is unforgettable, and the amenities make it feel waaaaaay more luxe than the price tag suggests.

I wouldn’t say it’s the trendiest spot in town (which makes sense since I was traveling with my 70-year old dad) but it sure is clean, convenient, and delivers exactly what you need after a long day of dumpling eating and walking around the Forbidden City. I’d 100% stay here again, especially for that tub I didn’t get to soak in 🛁

Trying to figure out where to stay in Singapore? The options are seriously endless. And right up Discover Over There’s boutique hotel alley. You’ve got the fancy stuff on Orchard, a ton of food and culture in Chinatown, or beach resort vibes on Sentosa. Per usual, I wanted something boutique and central so I booked the Mondrian Singapore Duxton for 3 nights and left a very satisfied customer. It’s pretty hard to be angry when you’re lounging around the rooftop pool with panoramic views of Singapore.

Keep reading for the full scoop on my Mondrian Singapore Duxton stay, including how to get there, what the rooms are like, all the cool amenities, and what to eat and drink while you’re there 🍸

Now let’s get into why the Mondrian Singapore Duxton should be at the top of your list for your next visit to Singapore 👇

Getting to Mondrian Singapore Duxton

Located in the heart of the vibey Duxton Hill area (right next to Chinatown), Mondrian Singapore Duxton is super conveniently located for you to explore the entire city of Singapore. There are a few easy ways to get to the Mondrian from Changi Airport (SIN), which is the main international airport in Singapore. (Yes, the one with the crazy indoor waterfall and butterfly garden)

I personally took a Grab (Singapore’s version of Uber) to the hotel because I had my suitcase, but that’s definitely not the only way to get around. Iirc, the Grab cost me around $20 USD.

Some of the other options for getting to Mondrian include:

🚊 MRT: Take the East-West Line (Green Line) from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah Station. Transfer to the Downtown Line (Blue Line) towards Tanjang Pagar Station. From there, it’s an 8 minute walk to the hotel  It’s cheap, efficient, and super clean.
🚖 Taxi: Available 24/7 right outside the terminal. It’s about 20–25 minutes depending on traffic and costs around SGD $25–35.

Rooms & Accommodations at Mondrian Singapore Duxton

From the minute I opened the door to my room at Mondrian Singapore Duxton, I knew I was in for a treat. Arched doorways, emerald walls, and skyline views? Say less. After a 17 hour journey from San Francisco, I felt like I was in heaven once I got up to my perfectly air-conditioned room 💚

With 302 rooms in total, you’ve got everything from pared-back Signature Skyline rooms to lavish Shophouse Suites that ooooooze extravagance. I stayed in a Signature Skyline Room, and I’m still dreaming about that giant plush king bed and the city views — it felt like my own private stage overlooking the city.

Every single room still comes loaded with top-tier amenities: a Lavazza coffee machine, full mini-bar, rainfall shower (hi, spa vibes), MALIN+GOETZ bath products, HD TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi. (I was luckily on funemployment during my stay but I checked the wi-fi speeds anyway and they were fast af).

And for those wanting the full-on luxe treatment, the Shophouse Suites are something else. Imagine beautiful sculptural furnishings, dramatic arches straight out of old Singapore, and enough space to feel utterly spoiled. It’s boutique-hotel drama at its finest, but with all the modern comforts travelers actually care about.

Rooms here typically start around $220/night.

Luxurious Amenities at Mondrian Singapore Duxton

Beyond the design-forward rooms and dreamy decor, Mondrian Singapore Duxton delivers on the amenities front too. Up on the rooftop, there’s a stunning rooftop infinite pool that feels like a hidden oasis. Think sky-high city views, cushy loungers, and just the right amount of sun. If I’m being honest, the second I saw photos of the rooftop pool, is when I immediately made my booking.

Then there’s the fitness center on Level 4, which honestly surprised me. I worked out twice during my stay (thank you jetlag). But with a solid lineup of free weights, resistance machines, cardio gear, and yoga mats, it was hard to find an excuse not to.

If you’re in town for something more official or romantic, Mondrian also has a lineup of gorgeous meeting spaces and wedding venues. Whether you’re planning a boardroom brainstorm or a sleek city ceremony, they’ve got the kind of flexible, stylish setups that make it all feel pretty special. (Too bad I’m getting married in San Francisco or this place would be a close 2nd).

It’s that perfect blend of high design and actual function that makes the whole place such a vibe.

Food & Drink at Mondrian Singapore Duxton

It’s impossible to go hungry (or thirsty) at Mondrian Singapore Duxton. Like, I swear this hotel is vegas-level with the amount of bars and restaurants onsite. Plus room service, you actually don’t need to leave if you don’t want to. Which I didn’t during my final day here. All I wanted to do was tan, relax, and eat. And it was wonderful.

Mondrian Singapore Duxton seriously brings it when it comes to food and drink. First up, Bottega di Carna on Level 3 is a modern Italian spot that’s part dinner, part show. Think bold Tuscan flavors, handmade pasta, and juicy cuts of meat straight from the butcher’s block.

Downstairs at Christinas, the vibe is totally different but just as good. It’s bright and airy during the day, and somehow even cooler at night. The menu is this perfect mashup of Mediterranean and Asian flavors. I went in for a quick dinner and ended up staying way longer than planned. Every dish that came out made me want to high five the chef.

And then there’s Jungle Ballroom. This place is a whole scene mixed with locals and tourists. You enter through a tunnel lined with neon lights and tropical greenery, and it feels like stepping into another world. The cocktails are super creative and packed with local flavor. It’s the kind of bar where you lose track of time in the best way.

Oh, and don’t sleep on The Last Sip. After 10 pm, it turns into the hotel’s late night lounge, serving craft cocktails and bites for anyone not ready to call it a night.

Basically, whether you’re into fancy dinners, casual bites, or cocktails with a side of jungle fantasy, Mondrian’s got you covered.

Staying at Mondrian Singapore Duxton: Final Thoughts

If you’re after a hotel that’s vibey but also comfortable, quiet, and clean — then Mondrian Singapore Duxton is your spot. The design is bold, the energy is playful, and every corner feels like it was made for your camera roll. It somehow nails both style and comfort without trying too hard. And the location? PRIME. Especially if it’s your first time exploring Singapore and you want to be right in the middle of the action.
