Trying to figure out where to stay in Singapore? The options are seriously endless. And right up Discover Over There’s boutique hotel alley. You’ve got the fancy stuff on Orchard, a ton of food and culture in Chinatown, or beach resort vibes on Sentosa. Per usual, I wanted something boutique and central so I booked the Mondrian Singapore Duxton for 3 nights and left a very satisfied customer. It’s pretty hard to be angry when you’re lounging around the rooftop pool with panoramic views of Singapore.

Getting to Mondrian Singapore Duxton
Located in the heart of the vibey Duxton Hill area (right next to Chinatown), Mondrian Singapore Duxton is super conveniently located for you to explore the entire city of Singapore. There are a few easy ways to get to the Mondrian from Changi Airport (SIN), which is the main international airport in Singapore. (Yes, the one with the crazy indoor waterfall and butterfly garden)
I personally took a Grab (Singapore’s version of Uber) to the hotel because I had my suitcase, but that’s definitely not the only way to get around. Iirc, the Grab cost me around $20 USD.
Some of the other options for getting to Mondrian include:
🚊 MRT: Take the East-West Line (Green Line) from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah Station. Transfer to the Downtown Line (Blue Line) towards Tanjang Pagar Station. From there, it’s an 8 minute walk to the hotel It’s cheap, efficient, and super clean.
🚖 Taxi: Available 24/7 right outside the terminal. It’s about 20–25 minutes depending on traffic and costs around SGD $25–35.
Rooms and Accommodations at Mondrian Singapore Duxton
From the minute I opened the door to my room at Mondrian Singapore Duxton, I knew I was in for a treat. Arched doorways, emerald walls, and skyline views? Say less. After a 17 hour journey from San Francisco, I felt like I was in heaven once I got up to my perfectly air-conditioned room 💚
With 302 rooms in total, you’ve got everything from pared-back Signature Skyline rooms to lavish Shophouse Suites that ooooooze extravagance. I stayed in a Signature Skyline Room, and I’m still dreaming about that giant plush king bed and the city views — it felt like my own private stage overlooking the city.
Every single room still comes loaded with top-tier amenities: a Lavazza coffee machine, full mini-bar, rainfall shower (hi, spa vibes), MALIN+GOETZ bath products, HD TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi. (I was luckily on funemployment during my stay but I checked the wi-fi speeds anyway and they were fast af).
And for those wanting the full-on luxe treatment, the Shophouse Suites are something else. Imagine beautiful sculptural furnishings, dramatic arches straight out of old Singapore, and enough space to feel utterly spoiled. It’s boutique-hotel drama at its finest, but with all the modern comforts travelers actually care about.
Rooms here typically start around $220/night.
Luxurious Amenities at Mondrian Singapore Duxton
Beyond the design-forward rooms and dreamy decor, Mondrian Singapore Duxton delivers on the amenities front too. Up on the rooftop, there’s a stunning rooftop infinite pool that feels like a hidden oasis. Think sky-high city views, cushy loungers, and just the right amount of sun. If I’m being honest, the second I saw photos of the rooftop pool, is when I immediately made my booking.
Then there’s the fitness center on Level 4, which honestly surprised me. I worked out twice during my stay (thank you jetlag). But with a solid lineup of free weights, resistance machines, cardio gear, and yoga mats, it was hard to find an excuse not to.
If you’re in town for something more official or romantic, Mondrian also has a lineup of gorgeous meeting spaces and wedding venues. Whether you’re planning a boardroom brainstorm or a sleek city ceremony, they’ve got the kind of flexible, stylish setups that make it all feel pretty special. (Too bad I’m getting married in San Francisco or this place would be a close 2nd).
It’s that perfect blend of high design and actual function that makes the whole place such a vibe.
Food and Drink at Mondrian Singapore Duxton
It’s impossible to go hungry (or thirsty) at Mondrian Singapore Duxton. Like, I swear this hotel is vegas-level with the amount of bars and restaurants onsite. Plus room service, you actually don’t need to leave if you don’t want to. Which I didn’t during my final day here. All I wanted to do was tan, relax, and eat. And it was wonderful.
Mondrian Singapore Duxton seriously brings it when it comes to food and drink. First up, Bottega di Carna on Level 3 is a modern Italian spot that’s part dinner, part show. Think bold Tuscan flavors, handmade pasta, and juicy cuts of meat straight from the butcher’s block.
Downstairs at Christinas, the vibe is totally different but just as good. It’s bright and airy during the day, and somehow even cooler at night. The menu is this perfect mashup of Mediterranean and Asian flavors. I went in for a quick dinner and ended up staying way longer than planned. Every dish that came out made me want to high five the chef.
And then there’s Jungle Ballroom. This place is a whole scene mixed with locals and tourists. You enter through a tunnel lined with neon lights and tropical greenery, and it feels like stepping into another world. The cocktails are super creative and packed with local flavor. It’s the kind of bar where you lose track of time in the best way.
Oh, and don’t sleep on The Last Sip. After 10 pm, it turns into the hotel’s late night lounge, serving craft cocktails and bites for anyone not ready to call it a night.
Basically, whether you’re into fancy dinners, casual bites, or cocktails with a side of jungle fantasy, Mondrian’s got you covered.
Staying at Mondrian Singapore Duxton: Final Thoughts
If you’re after a hotel that’s vibey but also comfortable, quiet, and clean — then Mondrian Singapore Duxton is your spot. The design is bold, the energy is playful, and every corner feels like it was made for your camera roll. It somehow nails both style and comfort without trying too hard. And the location? PRIME. Especially if it’s your first time exploring Singapore and you want to be right in the middle of the action.
