Woooo! Congrats on your recent engagement or maybe you’re here as the maid of honor that’s been tasked with planning a bachelorette party for the bride! Regardless of whether you’re the bride herself or the person in charge of planning (like I was) – I’m here to help you plan the ultimate bachelorette party in none other than Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
This ultimate party guide has everything you need to know to host the perfect celebration for the bride-to-be. With its vibrant nightlife, stunning beaches, and luxurious resorts, Cabo offers something for every bride and her guests. Imagine spending your bachelorette weekend lounging on the pristine sands of Medano Beach, sipping margaritas at Mango Deck, sailing on a yacht around the Cabo Arch, or dancing the night away at Mandala and Squid Roe in downtown Cabo. Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or an extended celebration, Cabo has it all.
Plus, I’ve crafted a sample 4-day bachelorette party itinerary at the bottom to help you more easily plan the bachelorette party of your dreams!
This site contains affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for purchases made through these links however, this has no impact on the integrity of my reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Before we get started, you’re probably thinking “Is Cabo actually where we should have this bachelorette party? Do I actually want to deal with the hassle of flying to Mexico?”
Don’t worry, I was being a negative nancy too at first but the answer is 100% YES and as it turns out – there’s plenty of really fun and great things to do in Cabo San Lucas that don’t involve hanging out with a bunch of college kids on spring break. I promise!
Plus, I’m a Bay Area native and so was the bride-to-be which meant that most of our group was traveling from California making Cabo a total breeze to get to! It makes for such a chill bachelorette trip because you don’t have to deal with a ton of travel stress and logistics. Almost every major airport flies nonstop to Cabo International Airport (SJD) but the proximity to the western states is another reason why Cabo makes for a great bachelorette destination!
Planning is essential to making sure the bride has the time of her life in Cabo. Some things you want to make sure to consider include choosing the right time to go (consider the weather and potential crowds), selecting the perfect accommodation (from luxurious villas to vibrant resorts), assigning friends to decorate and go on designated grocery store runs, and booking transportation in advance for trips to/from the airport and/or other excursions such as boat tours or day trips to San Jose del Cabo.
Here are 3 often overlooked but very necessary tips for planning an unforgettable Cabo San Lucas bachelorette party:
While Cabo San Lucas generally boasts beautiful weather year-round, the best time for a bachelorette party is generally between October and May. These months offer warm, sunny days with minimal rainfall, perfect for enjoying the beach, swimming, boat excursions, beach clubs, and water sports.
Even though the summer months (June, July, and August) are popular, you want to check the forecast regularly in the event of unexpected summer storms. I actually went towards the tail end of August and we had BEAUTIFUL weather but apparently we got lucky as there was major flooding in Cabo just the year before.
Planning your trip during the drier months ensures you and your besties can fully experience the stunning scenery and enjoy the nightlife, without having to worry about wet hair and staying in.
Booking transportation in advance is crucial for a smooth Cabo bachelorette experience. Once you get through customs, the cabo airport arrivals hall can be kind of a mess. You’ll want to get out of there as soon as possible!
I used Cabo Airport Shuttle for roundtrip transportation and could not have been more pleased. (I also do quite a bit of solo travel to Mexico often and I use them every single time I’m in Cabo).
You definitely also want to arrange a driver that includes a grocery store stop on the way to your accommodation – to make sure you stock up on snacks, drinks, and alcohol.
You can also consider hiring a private driver for day trips to San Jose del Cabo or for transportation to and from your boat tour. This ensures a comfortable and SAFE (esp for a large group of girls) way to explore the area, especially if you plan on enjoying cocktails throughout the day. Pre-booking transportation eliminates the hassle of navigating unfamiliar roads and ensures a safe and reliable way to get around during your celebration. Worst case – Uber definitely works in Cabo but not everyone usually has internet.
I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard this but in order to actually enjoy a bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, you want to make sure you’re healthy and that no one gets sick. This means sticking to bottled and/or filtered water, and reducing the amount of drinks you have with ice.
I’ve gotten sick in Mexico plenty of times (once at a wedding which was also no bueno) and while it’s possible to pull through, it’s really no fun at all to be running to the bathroom every hour while your friends are having the time of their lives. You also can’t enjoy the tacos to their fullest so MAKE SURE YOU DON’T DRINK THE TAP WATER.
There are usually pharmacies on every corner but it’s always a good idea to pack your own Pepto Bismol or Immodium.
Choosing the right location is key to a successful Cabo bachelorette party. Pedregal offers luxury villas and stunning ocean views, perfect for a more exclusive and relaxed getaway. Downtown Cabo provides easy access to nightlife, restaurants, and shopping, ideal for those seeking a lively and social atmosphere. For a more authentic Baja California experience, consider staying in San Jose del Cabo, a charming town with art galleries, boutiques, and more of a relaxed pace. Just keep in mind that San Jose del Cabo is still a ~45 minute drive away from Cabo San Lucas.
Even though it’s considered touristy, we chose to stay in Pedregal (link to our exact VRBO for 8 girls) because the villas were super affordable and the proximity to Squid Roe, SUR Beach Club, Mandala, Mango Deck, etc were unbeatable. We loved the massive pool and the fact that it was 4 bedrooms but each room had a king size bed and full bath, making it essentially 4 master suites for 8 girls.
You also want to think about SAFETY when you’re there – a bachelorette party is an easy target for pick pocketers and even creeps to follow you home.
The best part about Pedregal is that the entire community is gated and they only allow cars into the community that are registered or signed in. It’s an extremely safe choice for a large group of girls (and families too). There’s also a lot of accommodations that come with your very own private beach for an even better and more private experience.
I personally know a lot of other groups that have hosted bachelorettes in Pedregal too but ultimately, the best neighborhood depends on the vibes that you are looking for and also what you’ll want to do during the day.
If you’re still having trouble deciding – check out this other post I wrote awhile back weighing the differences between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.
Woooo here comes the fun part. Now that we’ve gotten the travel tips and accommodation out of the way – you’re probably thinking about what the heck the bride and a group of girls are going to do once you get to Cabo San Lucas?
There’s actually so many things to do in Cabo that it can be overwhelming but I’m going to share with you all the best activities to check out during your bachelorette!
This is definitely my #1 recommended activity and hands down the best part of our trip. For an unforgettable Cabo bachelorette experience, you’ll want to consider booking a private boat tour. There are a lot of companies out there where you can hire a professional captain for a 5-hour adventure on the water, complete with an open bar and a delicious lunch.
We used Cabo Discount Tours and paid $1437 USD for a 5-hour private charter for 9 guests and had THE BEST time ever. Our boat drivers were so fun and they served us endless margaritas!
On the boat, you can sail past iconic landmarks like the Arch of Cabo San Lucas (El Arco) and admire the stunning coastline and even look for whales if it’s the right season. They also stop a bunch of times so you can jump in the ocean and swim around before heading back. I promise renting a boat for the day will make this the perfect bachelorette for the bride.
Cabo San Lucas is basically known for their beach clubs (and Senor Frogs lol) so there’s no shortage of awesome and crazy beach clubs to go to. There’s fan favorites such as SUR Beach Club, Taboo, Corazon, Mango Deck, and more. We wanted something a little bit more on the relaxing side so we opted for a private cabana at SUR Beach Club.
It was great because they don’t actually charge you for the cabana but rather, you just have to meet a minimum. To be honest, I can’t remember what the minimum was exactly but I think it came out to $100 per person which wasn’t too bad considering you’re there for the entire day and that includes food and drink charges. We definitely went over the minimum but loved the vibe of the place.
Our boat day was pretty exhausting so we knew that we weren’t going to want to go out after. Luckily, we hired a private chef to come to our villa and cook us the most amazing meal filled with chicken, steak, veggie tacos, nachos, and countless pomegranate margaritas.
I highly recommend booking with Eat Cabo Catering! I worked with Claudia and she was so easy to communicate with and we handled everything via email. I think the total (including tax + tip) came out to $55 per person for 8 people. This included them coming to the house, setting up, cooking, and cleaning everything up.
We had SO MANY leftovers for the next morning it was perfect.
So this recommendation is probably not for everyone in the group (especially if people are particularly hungover) but a few of the girls and I did this and absolutely loved it because the views were INCREDIBLE from the top of the mountain.
The Cabo Dog Hike is a super unique and rewarding experience led by a local named Enrique. The hike starts promptly at 8am every morning and involves trekking through the desert landscape alongside a pack of friendly rescue dogs. These dogs, many of whom have been rescued from difficult situations, are eager for adventure and provide a heartwarming element to the hike. The trail offers stunning views of the Cabo Arch from the top, the surrounding mountains, and rugged coastline, while also providing an opportunity to support a worthy cause.
Just make sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water as there’s barely any shade on the trail!
It’s hard to believe a place like this exists in Mexico but Balandra Beach is hands down the most beautiful beach in the entire country. Balandra Beach, often called “Mexico’s Sea of Cortez Aquarium,” is a stunning natural wonder near La Paz, Mexico. Known for its calm, turquoise waters, unique rock formations, and shallow, warm lagoons, it’s the perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and/or simply relaxing (which isn’t as common on a bachelorette but hey – every bride wants something different).
I’d only recommend this activity if you have enough time and/or the entire group is wanting to go because this is an all-day adventure but so freakin’ worth it because you’ll see just HOW beautiful Balandra Beach is.
The most common way of getting here would be to book a pre-arranged tour or private transportation.
Click here for my complete guide on visiting Playa Balandra in La Paz, Mexico’s most stunning beach.
Congrats! If you’ve made it this far… then it sounds like you really might enjoy a bachelorette party in Cabo like we did. Besides the boat day and getting to hangout with a group of your closest girls, I’d say the restaurants and nightlife are pretty freakin’ fun in Cabo.
Half of the nightlife is your typical Squid Roe / Senor Frogs / Cabo Wabo vibe (which is honestly really fun because it’s all about who you’re with) and the other half is your classy, trendy night out at Nobu, Rooftop360, Outpost, or even the 1-Michelin Star Cocina de Autour Los Cabos.
There has been a massive influx in wealth over the last decade into Cabo so it’s definitely not JUST the trashy, spring break, get wasted party crowd anymore. You can find almost every luxury hotel chain with a property in Cabo and believe me – a night at each of these places is NOT cheap.
Our bride wanted a mix of both trashy and classy so these were the places we hit up during our 4-day bachelorette party:
Officially the highest terrace in town, Rooftop 360 (located inside Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa) is the perfect spot to sit back, wine and dine, while you enjoy the best view anywhere in Cabo San Lucas.
This place was so fun and had more than enough room for a large group of girls. They serve tasty cocktails and delicious Mexican and Japanese bites. They even have a DJ spinning up top!
This legendary Cabo nightclub is a multi-level dance club known for its energetic atmosphere, live music, and a vibrant party scene. Sorry I can’t share any photos from our experience here but just be prepared for some wild stories when you leave this place. Squid Roe is definitely on the trashier side but that’s what makes it fun!
SUR Beach House is designed to feel like your own Baja beach house, perfectly situated on Cabo’s most swimmable shoreline. With no affiliation to Vanderpump (sadly), SUR is a hip and modern beach club with all the essentials like cold drinks, a vibey DJ, direct access to the ocean, and more.
SUR Beach House is located inside the newly renovated Bahia Hotel & Beach House, located at the very tip of the beautiful Baja Peninsula, in Cabo San Lucas’ much-loved Medano District.
Ok so I really wanted to like this place and I did enjoy the food, drinks, and overall atmosphere. The views of the ocean and their espresso martinis were top notch. What I DID NOT enjoy was the automatic 20% tip added to our bill at the end without telling us that upfront. When the bill came, they asked me how much I wanted to tip and I said 15% and they immediately refused and said, “no 20% is the minimum” which is actually something I’m used to being from California but it was like.. then why ask?
I probably wouldn’t come back here and would head to Chubby Noodle Cabo down the street or Funky Geisha instead.
Mango Deck is a literal vibe regardless of when you go but I’d suggest going during the day. That’s when everyone is still out and about and you can take a dip in the ocean in between sipping margaritas and tequila shots. Located right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, on Medano Beach, Mango Deck boasts an unbeatable view of Lover’s Beach and the famous Arch of Los Cabos.
Mango Deck has great service, great drinks, and great vibes all around!
Known for its elegant ambiance, Mandala Los Cabos is a must-visit spot for nightlife. This club offers a luxurious nightclub experience with its impressive decor, VIP areas, oriental style decor, and over the top glamor with bottle service, confetti guns, and more. We had a blast especially when the DJ gave our bride a shout out from the big screens!
By no means is this an extensive list of restaurants and nightlife in Cabo so I’d recommend you continue to do more research based on what your group’s vibe is. Some of my other favorites that I didn’t list include Taboo, The Office, Don Manuel’s. Manta at The Cape, and Bagatelle!
