If you’ve been following me for a while or just stumbled on here for the first time, you should know that I’ll never say no to traveling somewhere warm and sunny. There’s just nothing quite like visiting somewhere with sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and an infinity pool with unlimited margaritas. Which is exactly why I knew I had to celebrate my most recent birthday at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita in Mexico.
I’d been wanting to visit Punta Mita for the longest time, so this posed the perfect opportunity for it. While looking for places to stay, it didn’t take long for me to decide on Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.
The resort had everything I was looking for – spectacular ocean views, unique activities and experiences, and staff that went above and beyond to make your stay the best. To put it shortly, Four Seasons made my birthday a memorable one!
So, come with me on a luxury escape to Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita while I share some bits and pieces about my amazing time at the resort.

Located just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, you’ll find Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. The hotel offers roundtrip door-to-door transportation so I highly recommend arranging that in advance.
The first time you step inside this gorgeous resort, you’ll feel like you’ve entered your own little paradise. You’ll even be greeted immediately with a hibiscus mocktail or cocktail with tequila! The resort was also recently renovated to include all kinds of modern amenities, like the infinity pool and Tamai pool deck. Set aside your expectations because you’re in for a big surprise!
From the moment we arrived, the birthday celebrations began! The staff decorated our room and gave us a huge treat from the very beginning. That’s precisely why this is one of the most sought-after resorts in Punta Mita, Mexico.
The Four Seasons Punta Mita has over 130 rooms, modern villas, and beautiful beach homes. While the resort was a sure choice for us, picking our room style was more challenging than we thought – there were so many choices! Ultimately, we chose the Garden Casita, a spacious room with an incredibly comfortable king bed and the best views of the lush surroundings.
The entirety of the resort screamed boho vibes, especially in the rooms, though I appreciated the modern touches. The balcony had a view of the lush tropical gardens, which was probably the best part of the room!
We absolutely loved staying in the Garden Casita, but there are actually so many different room choices! For one, you have the Oceanfront Casita, which has the same features as our room but with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. On the other hand, you have beach homes that sit directly on Manzanillas Beach, as well as a luxury-redefining penthouse.
It’s hard to go wrong at this resort, as your stay will be perfect no matter which room you choose.
Since San Francisco (where we’re from) is pretty much always cold… we knew we wanted to get the most out of the sun and warm weather. So once we got situated, we immediately changed into our swimwear, and rented out a cabana for the day.
We chose a cabana by the adults-only Tamai pool, the newest addition to the Four Seasons Punta Mita. It was a great place to soak in the sun, go for a dip, and enjoy some delicious spicy margaritas.
Of course, we also wanted to taste some of the food from the restaurant, so we ordered an udon noodle bowl with chicken along with some fresh guacamole and chips (and another spicy margarita)!
Speaking of restaurants, you’d think I’d be lying when I say that Four Seasons Punta Mita has 6 of them! AND 15 BARS. If you’re looking for something casual, you can stop by The Salad Shack or The Nuna Pool Bar. There’s no shortage of fresh, healthy options at either of these places. The dinner-only Aramara, on the other hand, serves various Asian dishes in addition to hot rock-cooked steaks and fresh sushi.
With the numerous options, we decided on the Mexican Dos Catrinas for dinner. Can you believe this restaurant serves over 300 tequila varieties? Not only that, but there are over 120 different tequila tastings throughout the entire resort! Yeah, maybe you should keep some Advil next to you, just in case.
Naturally, Dos Catrinas served traditional Mexican dishes, offering a unique take on the local cuisine. The birria short rib and spicy grilled octopus were amazing, but the table-side guacamole truly blew our taste buds away. (It was SO GOOD we even ordered it twice during our stay).
Before going into the details of the second day, I also have to mention the one-of-a-kind Bahia by Richard Sandoval seafood restaurant. We sadly didn’t get a chance to eat here but you can bet that I’m already counting down the days until I’m back in Punta Mita.
Bahia is located on the beach, has a very fancy atmosphere, and boasts incredible ocean views. The views from this restaurant were unmatched, and for those of you going here on a romantic getaway, this might be the perfect place to pop the big question!
After a perfectly relaxing first day at Four Seasons Punta Mita, it was time to explore the rest of the resort. The only obstacle? The unbelievably comfortable king bed in our room – it made getting up a serious challenge but nothing that a little coffee couldn’t fix!
Thankfully, there is Lavazza coffee provided in all the rooms but I usually like to get a morning walk in when I’m traveling. There was a free coffee cart down by Dos Catrinas but I opted for a nonfat cappuccino from the upstairs Mez Bar.
Everyone comes here to experience the ocean magic of Mexico Punta Mita, so naturally, the beaches do not disappoint. We had an organized activity later in the afternoon so we spent the majority of the day lounging on the beach before heading to the Nuna Pool for lunch.
You should know that there are TWO private beaches on the estate, and both are as magnificent as ever. The scenery is incredible, so be sure to keep your eyes on the water – maybe you can spot a whale!
When it comes to experiences, a good time is surely guaranteed in this little piece of paradise. From morning pool aerobics classes to snorkel tours to tequila tastings, there’s truly something for everyone here. For my birthday, I wanted to do something that would get my adrenaline going so the hotel helped us organize a Canopy tour which I didn’t realize at the time… is ziplining!
The Canopy tour led us through a 10-zipline operation and a suspension bridge behind the mountains of Higuera, a quaint and charming town. I’ve jumped out of a plane before back when I was 24 but for some reason, I was quite scared of zip-lining for the first time. (Maybe it’s because I’m 33 now and my prefrontal cortex is fully developed who knows).
The first couple lines were definitely scary but after awhile, you get used to it and it becomes more thrilling than anxiety inducing. Plus, the views of the Pacific Ocean and natural surroundings made my jaw drop to the floor despite seeing it every day at the resort.
The whole experience lasted about 2 hours. When we got back, we decided to freshen up and watch the sun set over the Nuna Pool before heading to dinner in downtown Punta Mita. The sight of the orange hues and the sun dipping into the ocean was like something you only see in those fancy CGI movies. I almost had to pinch myself to ensure it was all real!
Goodbyes are always hard, especially when you have to say them to magnificent places such as Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. We woke up and looked at the majestic tropical gardens one last time, had some coffee at the pool bar, and got a gym session in before we left Punta Mita.
Speaking of the gym, I was seriously so impressed by it! I rarely work out on vacation but was feeling refreshed and wanted to sweat out all the margaritas somehow before leaving. The best part of the gym? It even had it’s own reformer pilates machine!!!
Although we didn’t get the time for it, I highly recommend checking out the resort’s spa which is located near the gym. (We decided to be adrenaline junkies instead but I was definitely regretting not booking myself in for a treatment). I’ve heard raving reviews about their body treatments, and they even offer special packages for couples. Oh well – I guess that just gives us more of a reason to come back soon!
I cannot put it into words how happy I was with my stay at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. The service was impeccable and everyone there went above and beyond to make my birthday one that I’ll truly never forget.
Now that you’ve read about our experience, I hope you’re able to finish finalizing your Punta Mita itinerary by booking at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. I promise you won’t regret it. This luxurious escape includes endless amenities, a plethora of delicious restaurant and bar choices, and unforgettable experiences that will create lasting memories. Don’t miss your chance to discover its magic this summer!
