Immersing yourself in a traditional riad, in the heart of Morocco, is an absolute must for any first-time visitor to the country. If you’ve been scrolling through social media lately, and seen images and videos of Marrakech pop up on your explore page, then there’s probably a good chance you’ve already come across the stunning rooms and courtyard of Riad BE Marrakech.
At Riad BE, luxury isn’t just about thread count and amenities; it’s about stepping back in time and embracing the rich heritage of Morocco, all while being surrounded by stunning design and unparalleled hospitality. Riad BE Marrakech isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a portal to an unforgettable Moroccan adventure.
In this post, we’ll cover what you can expect from a stay at Riad BE Marrakech and will share all the details about my most recent stay with them this past winter.
Keep reading to learn more about one of the most beautiful riads in Marrakech!
I’d like to point out that this is NOT a sponsored post. I simply enjoyed my stay so much that I felt compelled to write about my experience. However, this site does contain affiliate links. I may receive a small commission for purchases made through these links but this has no impact on the integrity of my reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The 4-star Riad BE Marrakech hotel is located in the heart of the vibrant Marrakech medina. Located in the north of the historical medina, Riad BE Marrakech is around half a mile from Djemaa el Fna square and about a 7-minute drive from Bahia Palace.
On it’s doorstep are a number of the city’s famous souks and a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars in which to dine and drink. The location is perfect for those looking to embrace the chaos of Marrakech without being right in the very center of the madness!
They also offer direct airport pickup for $20 USD one-way which is what my friend and I opted for once we landed at RAK. We also used their service for getting back to the airport at the end of our trip. It’s definitely worth paying a little extra to have Riad Be Marrakech take care of it all!
In my opinion, the location and the rooms are what made Riad BE Marrakech a top notch stay. The location is seriously unbeatable. It was beyond convenient to tell any taxi driver to drop us off at Bab Doukkala (the main northwestern gate of the medina) which was only a few steps away from the riad.
The Riad is split into ‘The Oasis’ and ‘The Essence’. Rooms in The Oasis are more colorful and decorated with a series of traditional tiles and Berber furnishings. Rooms in The Essence are equally tasteful but more rustic, decorated in neutral tones and with period features from the riad’s history incorporated into the décor.
We personally stayed in one of The Oasis rooms which directly led to one of the two pools on the property. I was even impressed at the temperature of the shower. I wasn’t expecting much so was pleasantly surprised when the water (and water pressure) was just right.
For larger groups, you can book a separate private riad known as ‘The Douira’. It comes with three bedrooms rooms, a private kitchen and terrace, making it the perfect home away from home. (I know a girl that recently hosted her bachelorette here and it looked amazing. I don’t think I could personally get all my friends to fly to Marrakech for a bachelorette but a girl can dream).
Whichever room you book at Riad BE Marrakech, be prepared to enjoy a suite of amenities. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and private bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi is offered, and room service is available throughout the day and night.
When it comes to amenities at Riad BE, guests are not short of options. There are two small, but equally stunning, indoor pools on the property. The main pool, located just beyond the lobby, is surrounded by big lush plants and beautiful tiling. The second pool, located towards the back, is just as picturesque. Both pools are the perfect place to unwind after a long travel day.
There is also an in-house hammam where a traditional Moroccan ritual is offered using only natural products, this can be booked in advance of your stay or on arrival. Similarly, if your Riad BE Marrakesh stay is to focus on wellness, then don’t miss the chance to join a yoga class at the onsite studio.
Moroccan cuisine is known for having a unique formula of spices, tastes and flavors. You can learn how to cook a traditional Moroccan meal with the Cookery Course that’s offered by Riad BE Marrakech. You can book directly with the front desk!
A fresh daily buffet breakfast is included in all stays at Riad BE Marrakech. With both Moroccan and continental offerings, there is also a variety of fresh fruit and a full selection of hot and cold drinks.
Breakfast can be enjoyed on the riad’s outdoor terrace, a wonderful place in which to welcome the Moroccan sunshine. This is where we enjoyed our coffee and Moroccan mint tea every morning!
Riad BE Marrakech is twinned with BE Agafay, a desert camp located 30km from Marrakech. Guests at Riad BE get special access and sometimes special rates for a stay at BE Agafay, allowing them to spend a memorable night in a desert yurt, with just the stars for company. It can also be visited on a day trip by all guests at Riad BE who are looking for a different experience.
Other available experiences include joining a curated yoga holiday and an optional welcome dinner on your first night, where you can indulge in local dishes atop the riad’s dazzling rooftop.
Being Morocco’s most popular travel destination, Marrakech definitely does not fall short of options for accommodation. Marrakech is a city truly bursting with energy, history, and culture.
Naturally, there are also plenty of traditional riads youcan book, but Riad BE Marrakech represents one of the best options for travelers seeking an authentic riad experience. With intricate and elegant design and a preservation of period pieces and historical features, it manages to effortlessly bring an old-world charm into the modern day.
With a range of amenities and optional activities to embrace, a fresh breakfast and a delightful terrace, plus an enviable location just steps from the old city center, I strongly recommend Riad Be Marrakech as an option for your accommodation needs in the city.
