As someone who stays in a lot of hotels for work, there are only a handful of hotel brands I genuinely love for their design, and The Hoxton is definitely one of them. I’ll never forget my first stay at The Hoxton in London over 10 years ago (the true OG). So, when I found out there was one in Vienna, I knew I had to book a stay asap. The Hoxton Vienna is the epitome of cool and stylish, with its retro-chic design and old-school Vienna vibes ✨
Keep reading for my full hotel review on The Hoxton Vienna, including how to get there, an inside look at the rooms, all the must-know amenities (like the panoramic rooftop bar), and why this might just be your next favorite hotel stay in Vienna 👇

However, none of that impacts the integrity of my reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Hoxton Vienna is located in the heart of the Landstrasse district (3rd district) in Vienna. It’s just a short walk to Belvedere Palace, Stadtpark, and the KunstHausWien museum — making it an ideal spot to explore Vienna’s culture and green spaces 🍃
Getting to the hotel itself is also super convenient. My mom and I took an uber directly from Vienna International Airport and paid around 30€. We didn’t want to deal with lugging all of our stuff but we probably would’ve taken the subway if we had less things. These are the few main ways of getting to The Hoxton Vienna:
🚕 ~25 minute uber/taxi from Vienna International Airport
🚂 ~10 minute taxi or ~30 minute walk from Vienna Main/Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof)
Ⓜ️ ~4 minute walk from the nearest metro (Stadtpark)
What’s your favorite thing about staying at a boutique hotel? For me, it’s usually the rooms because they’re always packed with detail and thoughtfully designed. And that’s definitely true for The Hoxton Vienna.
The Hoxton Vienna offers 196 rooms inspired by early 20th-century Austrian design. Each room features geometric patterned curtains, ruched headboards, statement rugs, and more. The Hoxton always gives me 50’s or 60’s vibes, so I was happy to see our room decorated with local photography and 1950s-inspired art. I would seriously die happy if my home bedroom looked exactly like a Hoxton hotel.
My mom and I stayed in the “Cosy” room which had a queen-size bed, a walk-in shower, ample closet space, and plenty of natural light!
The bathrooms are equally well-designed, featuring blue or black tiles, wooden trims, grey terrazzo floors, and sleek chrome fixtures. I swear, this is one of the few hotels that can pull off plush velvet so effortlessly.
The Hoxton Vienna comes packed with thoughtful amenities, including a rooftop pool with stunning city views, a well-equipped fitness studio, multiple dining spots (more on this below), and a cozy lobby perfect for lounging or grabbing a coffee or adult beverage. Whether you’re in work mode or vacation mode, this place covers all the bases in true Hoxton style.
If you’re local to the area, there’s even the option to rent out “The Auditorium”. The Hoxton’s first-ever live events venue, accommodating over 200 guests, equipped with a built-in screen, sound system, and two bar areas, suitable for performances, seminars, and private dining. Are you saying I should’ve gotten married here instead of San Francisco???
While the decor at The Hoxton Vienna definitely steals the spotlight, I’d argue the rooftop bar and pool are a very close second. If you’re on the fence about booking and the weather’s warming up, don’t even hesitate. Book it just for Caya Coco rooftop alone. This is one of those magical hotels where you could honestly never leave the building and still have an amazing trip thanks to the on-site dining lineup.

The ground-floor bistro is a total all-day affair, from à la carte breakfast to schnitzel-filled dinners. I ate here one of the nights and absolutely loved the food and drink. They serve everything from cozy Austrian staples to dishes with a little French flair. The moules-frites were seriously bomb, don’t sleep on ordering them 🍟
Cayo Coco
This rooftop spot is the definition of laid-back cool. Light, citrusy ceviches, crispy pommes de frites, fresh salads, it’s the perfect mix of snacky and satisfying. Pair it with a sunset and you’re golden.
Salon Paradise
Once the rooftop closes at 11, the party moves downstairs. This sultry, speakeasy-style bar is all plush velvet, moody lighting, and vibey corners. The cocktail list is ambitious in the best way possible. With a vinyl-only DJ spinning funk, soul, and experimental jazz, it’s giving retro glam and late-night cool in equal measure.
And don’t worry — the noise doesn’t travel thank god. There’s nothing worse than sleeping in a hotel where the music is blaring through the walls all night. I’m the lightest sleeper in the world and slept like a freakin’ baby here. Could’ve been the jetlag but I’ll attribute it to the A+ soundproofing at The Hoxton Vienna.
The Hoxton Vienna nails that perfect mix of cool design, comfort, and local flavor, making it an ideal base for your stay in the heart of the Austrian capital. From its retro-chic rooms to the rooftop pool and standout dining options, it’s got all the style and substance you’d expect from a quintessential Hoxton stay.
Whether you’re here to museum-hop, sip cocktails with a view, or just enjoy a beautifully designed space that feels like a second home, The Hoxton Vienna delivers a vibe that’s equal parts laid-back and luxurious.
