Calling all Bachelor in Paradise fans to Sayulita, Mexico! Located on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Nayarit, Sayulita is a picturesque town best known for its colorful streets, beautiful, beaches, world class surf, delicious food, and so much more! Okay so – even if you’re NOT a bachelor fan, I’m here to tell you all about why the small town of Sayulita is the perfect place to host your bachelorette party.
Plus, I’ve crafted a sample itinerary at the bottom to help you more easily plan the bachelorette party of your dreams!

First and foremost, the vibe of Sayulita is unlike other places in Mexico. I’ve heard from people that Puerto Escondido might be similar but there’s just something special about Sayulita that you can’t find anywhere else.
There’s a reason places like Cabo and Tulum are so well-known and if you’re looking for the heavy party all night vibe, then Sayulita is probably not the place for your bachelorette party. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more laid-back vibe, a safe destination, and a place to get together with all of your close girlfriends, then Sayulita is definitely the place for you!
Planning a bachelorette party for a large group can be daunting, especially when booking accommodation. Sayulita definitely solves that problem! From sprawling beachfront villas with private pools to charming boutique hotels and even surf camps with shared spaces, Sayulita offers a ton of diverse options that will comfortably accommodate your entire group.
For the last bachelorette party that I attended in Sayulita, we booked three nights at this incredible Airbnb with our group of 14 girls. In total, the Airbnb had 6 homes (aka casitas), 10 bedrooms, AND a waterfall infinity pool.
Besides when we were sleeping, we basically spent every second hanging out by the pool. Beside from the pool, these were some of the additional hi-lights of the El Oasis villa:
• 360° views of the ocean, mountains, and jungle
• A/C in every casita and some of the homes had their own living room & kitchen
• huge outdoor palapa lounge and bbq/bar area
• outdoor garden with banana, lime, and avocado trees
• location was perfect – the villa was only a ~10min walk away from everything
• extremely affordable (the entire villa fits 24-26 so the price per night was super reasonable and we only had 15 people total)
I’m a Bay Area native and so was the bride-to-be which meant that most of our group was traveling from California to Sayulita. This is another reason why Sayulita is a great bachelorette party destination, especially if you’re coming from the west coast.
As always, I flew United Airlines from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta and the flight was around ~3.5 hours. Ps. If your home airport is SFO, LAX, DEN, IAH, or EWR – I highly recommend checking out the United Explorer Card to earn free miles. (I personally carry the Infinite Card which comes with a high annual fee, but that’s because I need lounge access to work remotely during my trips).
Once we landed, we booked pre-arranged transportation to pick us up from Puerto Vallarta International Airport. Since we had 14 girls with us, we arranged two sprinter vans for roundtrip pickup. From the airport, it’s about a ~45 minute drive into Sayulita. We even stopped at the grocery store along the way to pick up all the food, alcohol, and snacks we’d need for the next 3 days!
Even though Sayulita doesn’t offer sprawling mega-resorts, that doesn’t mean they’re not great for big groups! As mentioned earlier, there are a ton of different accommodation options for large parties. It was also really easy to make reservations at the nearby restaurants even though we had 14 girls.
Also, Sayulita definitely seems to be on the rise as a top wedding destination so a lot of places are pretty well-equipped to host big groups by now. From booking flights and accommodation to the boat rental to making restaurant reservations, it felt pretty seamless to travel in a large group throughout Sayulita.
Outside of the town itself, there are so many activities to do near Sayulita. This is definitely a destination that has something for everyone including ziplining, horseback riding, water sports, hiking, and more. Our bride really wanted to do a boat day so we booked a full day out on the ocean with Ally Cat Tours.
The boat included lunch, snacks, and the best part? IT WAS OPEN BAR. We literally spent the entire day out on the water and go to sail around the neighboring islands including Isla Marietas and the Punta Mita area. I can’t recommend this activity enough for your bachelorette! It’s the perfect way to celebrate your final days as a single woman (or celebrating your friend is just as fun)!
One of the biggest advantages to choosing Sayulita for your bachelorette party is that it tends to be more affordable than other places in Mexico. Unlike Cancun or Cabo San Lucas, Sayulita doesn’t offer all-inclusive resorts and caters much more to travelers with a range of budget. Assuming that you’re going with a handful of girls, Sayulita also really allows you to celebrate in style without breaking the bank for yourself or those around you.
It’s hard to go wrong anywhere in Sayulita but you especially can’t go wrong with the nightlife. Sayulita’s vibrant nightlife attracts all types of travelers and even locals from the surrounding areas of San Pancho, Bucerias, and even Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita.
If you’re not too exhausted from the sun and spending all day on a boat (even if you are – it’s your bachelorette party so I hope you grab a coffee and suck it up) – then you’ll probably be spending your evenings out and about in Sayulita. While quieter than some other party destinations in Mexico, Sayulita is most definitely still a party town at night.
Some of the best places to go for a fun night out include:
CAVA – One of the best cocktail bars in Sayulita! CAVA is a cool little bar that offers a huge selection of tequila, mezcal and raicilla. You definitely don’t want to miss out on the Watermelon Mezcalita or the Pineapple on Fire. For both drinks, they chop up the fresh fruit right in front of you and each cocktail is only ~$8 USD. You can also swing by their happy hour from 4-6 PM for even steeper deals on their entire cocktail menu.
Hula Sayula – Located on the rooftop of La Rustica, Hula Sayula is a fun bar and nightclub in the heart of Sayulita. They serve great cocktails and have a live DJ at night. We came here for my friend’s bachelorette and had so much fun! It’s a huge space so it’s also great for big groups and dancing all night long.
Xochi – If you’re walking down the street in Sayulita it is just about impossible to miss Xochi. It’s located directly in the main plaza and the entire building is painted in bright colors. You’ll likely hear music blasting from the outside as well. This would be a great starting point for the night as well since Xochi is also known for their food!
Frente al Punto Beach Club – While this is more of a daytime option, Frente al Punto is one of the best beach clubs in town! Frente al Punto Beach Club is located right on the main beach of Sayulita aka Playa Sayulita. It also doubles as a wedding venue so it’s a super popular location to host family and friends for a bachelorette! Make sure you check out their cocktail specials, they’re famous for their “Black Mamba” cocktail!
If you’ve been to Mexico, you probably already know that the food is incredible. From tacos to fresh guacamole to incredible seafood, you really can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants in Sayulita! In keeping with the celebratory theme of a Mexico bachelorette party, we opted for two exciting nights out for dinner at Don Pedro’s and La Rustica.
Both restaurants are conveniently located in the heart of Sayulita and boast flavorful and mouthwatering dishes such as cazuela de mariscos (seafood w/ rice), rib eye chicharron, freshly grilled fish of the day, and so much more.
On our last night, we hired a private chef to cook in our villa which was such an amazing experience. The host of our Airbnb arranged it all for us so it made things even easier – especially since we spent the entire day out on the water (more about this later). We were excited to not have to leave the villa for food on our last night.
Did you know that Sayulita isn’t just stunning, but it’s also eco-conscious? The charming town embraces sustainability through initiatives like reducing single-use plastics, supporting locally-owned businesses, and offering eco-friendly accommodations. By choosing Sayulita for your bachelorette celebration, you’re not just creating unforgettable memories, but you’re actually contributing to a brighter future for this unique and eco-friendly destination.
Last but not least, the heart of this little town lies in its warm and welcoming people. The locals, a diverse blend of natives, expats, and surfers, embrace a laid-back, friendly spirit. Whether you’re seeking insider tips from friendly shopkeepers, learning basic Spanish phrases from locals, or simply soaking up the positive energy, the people of Sayulita will leave a lasting impression. They’re proud of their heritage, open to sharing their culture, and always happy to welcome visitors into their unique community.
